Getting from the Airport to Vienna’s City center
The fastest way to get from the airport to the city center is the City Airport Train (CAT) which reaches the central station “Wien Mitte – Landstraße” within 16 minutes. Tickets are EUR 12 for a single journey and EUR 21 for an open return ticket. Tickets can be bought online (CAT Infopage), or on-site at ticket vending machines, or at the tourist info point at the airport.
Our recommended option is to take the suburban train (“S-Bahn”) line S7, which takes approx. 10 minutes longer than the CAT. A one-way ticket costs only EUR 4.20 and can be bought at the vending machines on-site. A further advantage of this train is that it connects the airport directly to the train station “Praterstern”, which is close to the conference venue.
You can also to get to the city by taxi. Taxis can be found at the airport exit. Fares vary according to the time of day, traffic volume, etc. ATS Taxi has a taxi stand at the airport where they offer fixed prices. A cheaper option (EUR 25–30) is to order a taxi in advance – for example, at CoolCab Taxi (+43 660 30 23 673), where they also offer taxi rides for a fixed price. A ride to the city center takes around 30 minutes.
